While Andre “Touchy” Fili (18-5) waits for his next contract to compete in a sport “as real as it gets,” the UFC featherweight wanted to try out his acting chops, signing to appear in a film titled: Green Fever.
Had Fili been scheduled to return to the world-acclaimed Octagon anytime soon—tagging him as “in competition”—the premise of Green Fever alone would have USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) raising flags. According to Green Fever’s IMBd (link here), it summarizes the plot as, “A medical marijuana grower and his pregnant girlfriend fight for their lives when dangerous criminals enter their property to rob them.”
Instead of responding to the bell in five-minute chunks with the essence of a superhero, Fili falls into the particular moment of a scene—playing a character named Diego Beltran—whenever the director of Green Fever, Gerard Roxburgh, announced: “Action!”
Currently, Green Fever is in the pre-production phase, and it’s expected to be released some time next year.
