Where Will Northern California’s Fight Fans Be on April 14th?

With the vast collection of talented mixed martial artists calling Northern California home, MMA fans never struggle to find a pair of fists to rally behind. When multiple promotions host an event on the same evening, loyalty can’t be divided equally.

On April 14, 2018, amateurs and professionals will soak in the spotlight when several fight organizations surrounding “The Golden State,” including: California Fighting Championship (CFC) in Sonora; King of the Cage (KOTC) in Oroville; and Evolution Sports Expo in Santa Clara.

In CFC’s sophomore showing in Sonora—CFC 2—the card will feature both amateurs and pros; moreover, CFC 2 concludes inside the High Country Sports Arena with the crowning of a champion when Cody Sons and Ryan Williams contend for the CFC Light Heavyweight Title.

According to mixedmartialarts.com (link here), the professional portion of CFC 2 will feature:

Cody Sons vs. Ryan Williams for the CFC Light Heavyweight Title

Justin Linn vs. TBD in the featherweight division

Omar Hussein vs. Jordan Christensen in the lightweight division

Nick Kohring vs. TBD in the middleweight division

The amateur side of CFC 2 is posted at camomma.org (link here) and reads as:

Marc Thompson vs. TBD in the heavyweight division

Sergio Hurtado vs. Gregory Morales in the light heavyweight division

Josh Scott vs. Matt Sourthern in the middleweight division

Kevin Ford vs. John Mathison in the middleweight division

William Eckstein vs. Alfonso Delreal in the lightweight division

Monico Gonzalez vs. Alyssa Pallen in the bantamweight division

For tickets or more information about CFC 2, visit their site: www.cfcfightclub.com/tickets.

KOTC regularly mines Northern California for nuggets of greatness in MMA. The promotion’s next stop will be the Gold Country Casino in Oroville. Though Oroville is a rural town, each mixed martial artist set to appear before everyone in attendance is chasing big city dreams in the world of prizefighting.

If followers of the sport are unable to warm a seat inside the Gold Country Casino, all the action will be available on MAV TV six-weeks later.
