Twitter Reacts to Max Griffin’s Dominant Victory Over Mike Perry at #UFCOrlando

Max ‘Pain’ Griffin (14-4) entered Orlando, Florida as the enemy, though he soon turned the tide, especially on Twitter, in his favor with an impressive display over ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry (11-3), the hometown hero, to kick the main card of UFC on FOX 28 into gear.

With each lethal combination landed by Griffin, the interest of fans online shifted from focusing on the brash persona played by Perry to the well-executed fundamentals, game plan, and strikes packed with ‘Pain’ by the most decorated welterweight out of Northern California.

For those who hadn’t accepted the hype surrounding Perry’s character, they hoped a humble martial artist, such a Griffin, could adjust his attitude:

Round 1

Soon after Griffin found his groove, he was able to draw Perry away from a reckless brawl and into a prizefighter’s duel, ideal for a composed Kickboxer of Griffin’s pedigree.

Round 2

While Griffin’s head coach, Dave ‘Madman’ Marinoble, rinsed out his student’s mouthpiece between rounds, his instructions consisted of repeating the successes he’d had in the opening five-minutes. Griffin obliged.

Round 3

Although Griffin still poured some of his patented ‘Pain’ upon Perry, the Florida-native emptied every ounce of energy from his reserves in an attempt to play the game of inches to his advantage.

An exemplary performance over a touted opponent such as Perry begs the question: What’s next for Griffin?
