559 Fights 62: Champion vs. Champion

After Yuni ‘Yunibomber’ Valencia (6-2) and Chris ‘The Land Shark’ Avalos (4-0) both hoisted newly acquired belts above their heads at 559 Fights 60, the young 559 Fights champions of their respective divisions will lock horns as the main event of the all-amateur promotion’s upcoming attraction: 559 Fights 62.

The Central Valley based fight organization cultivates much of their own talent, and their Lightweight Champion, Valencia, and Welterweight Champion, Avalos, have been nurtured from seedlings in the sport to thriving prospects of today. Due to 559 Fights’ collaboration with FloCombat.com, these amateur mixed martial artists will shine from inside the Visalia Convention Center to fingertips around the world through the portal of a professional stream.

Valencia climbed atop the 155-pound leaderboard with a second-round submission over Emilio Horta. In a return before his hometown faithful, ‘Yunibomber’ will be prepared to explode with an added fifteen-pounds upon his shell, as he’s bulking up in an attempt to add another piece of hardware to his trophy case.

Known as ‘The Land Shark’, Avalos can smell traces of blood while locked in the cage, triggering a pursuit of the kill. Finishing seventy-five percent of his contests without any input from the judges makes the product of Parlier an appealing draw. While on the hunt of his title, the member of Ralph’s House Gym shredded his opposition to pieces in under two-minutes to become king of the promotion’s 170-pound weight class.

The remainder of 559 Fights 62 has yet to be announced, but with a cherry of champion versus champion at the top of the bill, whoever else finds a place in the lineup will only sweeten the violent treat on February 2, 2018. For more information about this event, go to 559fights.com.
