NorCal MMA Welcomes 2018

The final turn of everyone’s calendar delivers a fresh scent of possibility. Whether you’re reflecting on the recent passing of 2017 or projecting what’s to come as 2018 plods along, a collection of Northern California’s MMA superstars—athletes who perform unthinkable feats in a cage—mirror the many traditions shared by people around the world.

Some celebrate with close friends; whereas, others cuddle alongside loved ones to ring in the new year:

No matter who is by your side, the clock strikes midnight, and we wave goodbye to the past and welcome the future:

Some, like Team Alpha Male’s head honcho, Urijah Faber, can’t wait to tear into the days ahead with a ferocious bit:

For another portion of the population, the difference from one sunrise to the next can present a stark contrast, as modeled by UFC welterweight Max Griffin’s decision to leave the nine-to-five behind and carve his craft to further depths, punching the clock as a full-time fighter:

Others, however, find solace in where they are in their lot in life, and they eagerly anticipate where the status quo takes them while traversing life’s windy roads:

No matter how you splashed into 2018 or what’s in store for you as the year progresses, the message from one member of NorCal’s mixed martial arts community to the next hit with the same one-two combination: wishing success and happiness to you and your loved ones:

Happy 2018!
